boy advice please!!!!

There's this guy in my class that I'm interested in but he doesn't seem to like me at all!!! I've never really spoke To him but I'm just trying to slowly talk to him and build a friendship he is slowly becoming more nicer and approachable. He used to stare at me all the time but in a weird meanish way but now I'll turn around and kinda smile / smirk and he does it back. Any advice or suggestions
