Is it okay to ttc while not married or in a relationship?

For example, you are having sex with someone special, they KNOW you are not on birth control and they aren't using a condom.. I would assume the man knows how babies are made.. Is it okay if the woman doesn't mind getting pregnant? Or is it selfish?

I don't think an assumption should be made.  I voted that it's fine (before I read the example situation).  My hubby and I were TTC while engaged.  But I wouldn't if the relationship hasn't progressed to something serious, and I definitely wouldn't assume that he knows you could get pregnant.

This topic is fascinating to me. I've been in a situation like this. I've been hooking up with my friend for 5+ years and 2-3 times he was behind me and came. He wasn't wearing a condom and he knew I wasn't on the pill.. I kept wondering "where did it go??" Obviously it had to have gone inside me because it wasn't anywhere else. I didn't get pregnant and we've been using condoms lately but it really made me think. I would love to have his baby but idk...
