Can big babies/early delivery be passed down genetically?

I was born 5 weeks early and still 6lbs 6oz. And my mother just let me know that my brother and sister were both 3 weeks early, one was 8 and a bit and one over 9 lbs. I'm curious if that means I should be expecting my baby boy a few weeks before his due date or if there's really no correlation.

Grandma was 2 weeks early with all 3 of hers. My mom was 2 weeks early with my sister and I. I have a feeling he will be born the end of July but I'm due August 10. We will see...

There is a correlation between weight, but bigger babies don't necessarily mean they'll be born earlier than smaller ones.

I was born 10lb 5oz. My husband was over 10lb too. Our daughter was 9 days past due and born 8lb 10oz. She was bigger,.but not a 10lb baby like us!

Well interestingly enough my baby is measuring 3 weeks ahead now out of nowhere and I have to have a growth ultrasound. My mom said that's exactly what happened with my brother and she had him early. So... I guess we'll see.

I'm not sure. I don't think so and hope not lol. My mom had big babies: two 8 almost 9 pound babies and one 10 pound baby. My belly is measuring small and my doc thinks she'll be a petite thing. But only time will tell!
