pregnant?

Hello ladies,

So just over two weeks ago, I had sex with this guy as a one off. The condom broke. It's the usual story. My period is a week late now and I did this this morning as a precaution and I think it's positive?

I'm freaking out because I'm about to graduate and have a successful career.

I've always wanted to be a mother but not in this way.

Anyone have any advice on what my next steps are?

I'm a bit scared :(

That is a very clear positive. Yes abortion is an option as most of the comments have mentioned but so is adoption and so is keeping the baby. This is a huge decision for you to make and I encourage you to make the choice you feel is best. Don't make it right away tho give yourself a little time to think about it and decide what you want. Your going to be graduating soon and starting a successful career. Which means you should be able to support yourself and your child. If you do keep it, I encourage you to call this one  timer and inform him of his coming child. He helped make it and he may want to help raise it. Maybe not as a couple but this man could turn out to be a great co parent and father. You'll never know unless you tell him tho. If he freaks out and wants nothing to do with it ok. Don't push it, but he could also freak out and want everything to do with it. Give him the benefit of the doubt until then. If you chose not to keep it, adoption is a wonderful thing especially with so many women suffering with infertility. Abortion is an option, it's not something I believe in myself but I also believe that you have the right to make that choice for yourself without other people's judgement. I wish you luck in your coming journey and hope that everything goes well for you no matter what you chose.

I'm not sure where you reside, but search abortion clinics or planned parenthoods near you. There are 2
Main options for someone as early as you are; a pill or surgical method. The pill essentially enables your body to miscarry. You watch your bleeding and go to a follow up appointment for an ultrasound to insure your body expelled everything. The surgical method can be done under general anesthesia, iv sedation, or just mild pain killers with a muscle relaxer. You know you are no longer pregnant when leaving the office, it's an outpatient procedure and typical recoveries are anywhere from a few days to a week. You are given anabiotics and advised to take OTC pain medications. You also are given a follow up appointment. My brother's wife had the surgical procedure with iv sedation and felt better in a day with only minor bleeding and mild cramping. Best of luck! Definitely a positive....if you're not ready to be a mom, don't be doing the deed. So many people out there struggling to conceive, wanting to be parents, adoption is always an option, after carrying full term you may decide this baby so the best thing that's ever happened to you. I am not a believer in abortion as a form of birth control. You absolutely can succeed in your career having a child or not. Just graduating & starting a career is a huge accomplishment, now you have a baby to think about sharing that accomplishment with. Timing isn't always on our side but everything happens for a reason... good luck to you. It's a very hard decision to make.

I personally don't believe in abortion, but it is an option this early in your pregnancy. I hope you consider the other options, I know plenty of women who never let a child ruin there careers.

There are several options and you need to choose the right one for you. Only you can make this decision for yourself. I'm not sure where you live, but that will have an impact on what options you will have access to. First, you can keep the child and raise it. Second, you can have the child and give it up for adoption. Third, you can have an abortion. Whatever choice you decide, or if you're on the fence, you should seek out a planned parenthood or a similar clinic. You will need to get information to make an informed decision, and these people can help you. I was once in your position, 24 and found myself pregnant, and I was able to make the decision that was right for me. 
If you do choose to explore the abortion option, you may only have 2-4 more weeks to do so, depending on the laws in your state.
