Cramping

I'm 15weeks I went to the Dr today and told him I was having contractions and had a kidney infection he didn't even check me he just wrote a script for antibiotics and did an ultrasound of the baby to ease my mind but I told the nurse I wanted him to check me cause I was having contractions. Should I just calm down or go get checked at the er? And Cathy your input would be appreciated.
