Pre-term Labor...My Story
Sorry if this is long...just want to share my experience so far.
So on the 12th, which marked being 32 weeks being pregnant, I woke up early in the morning to use the bathroom. I couldn't fall back asleep. So I just laid there, played on my phone a little to make myself sleepy..when all of a sudden I felt a gush of liquid. I thought I had peed myself. So I just cleaned myself up and tried to go back to sleep...when I was woken up by an even bigger gush of liquid, which completely soaked my underwear and pants. I woke my husband to let him know and it happened again. I changed and we made our way to the hospital.Got to the hospital and found out my sac was ruptured. They immediately gave me the steroid shot for baby's lungs and put me on magnesium sulfate to stop/slow down contractions. Had to be transferred to another hospital because, the one I was supposed to deliver at, doesn't have a NICU. When I got to the other hospital, I was having contractions 2 minutes apart, but not feeling anything and only 1-2 cm dilated. They told me I'd have to be on magnesium sulfate for a total of 48 hours because I was going to be given another steroid shot 24 hours after the last one. Magnesium sulfate is not fun at all! I couldn't move, I couldn't talk, I couldn't keep my eyes open...one of the worst feelings.
It is exactly one week since this happened and I am currently on bed rest with only bathroom privileges in the hospital until my little guy makes his appearance. Since my water broke, the goal is to keep him in there until 34 weeks. If he wants to come out earlier, it's fine. If not, I'll be getting induced on Monday, which will be exactly 34 weeks.
I'm getting anxious, antsy, bored, nervous....a little bit of everything haha. But just praying my little boy is ok and when the time comes, a safe delivery😊
