when is it time to stop baby-fying kids ?

My newphew is 7 and gets treated like he's 3 or 4 years old by his grandparents and his older brother . He's in 1st grade and I just think it's time to stop baby-fying him. I mean the holding and kissing all over him like he's still an infant is ridiculous .

Yeah because theres an age cut off for affection and love.

I mean it really depends. My son is 6 and I still squeeze him and kiss his adorable, perfect little face. But he has responsibilities and is treated like a school aged child.

i think there's a difference between showing love and affection and showing them to be independent..  
no problem with love and affection but if they're ALWAYS doing EVERYTHINNG for them, then i'd say yes there's a certain age to cut that off.

Sounds like you're a little jealous lol . He's a kid my son is six and I still hold & kiss him all the time although he prefers me not to lol because he thinks he's a man lol .
