I was looking at swings on amazon and found one i like. I looked through the reviews and saw this. Its an ingenuity brand swing. 1) is this actually unsafe, because car seats do the same thing so im not sure about the validity of it being unsafe. And 2)anyone have their own personal reviews on this brand of swing?

So you're right about car seats doing the same thing. You're never supposed to leave a newborn in a car seat or swing for more than 2 hours straight and they should never sleep in one. Small naps but never out of your supervision for the exact reason that they can fold up and get their Airway cut off..
Swings are okay to use but you always need to keep an eye on a newborn and never let them sleep in one from more than a little bit. I will say that this swing looks a bit odd in how deep it is at full recline. Perhaps the infant insert isn't in there?

I have an Ingenuity swing, looks very similar to that picture. My baby never looked weird or uncomfortable in it to me, he loved being in it from the beginning. The swing I had was slightly adjustable so if it was in one position it was less bucket-y.

If you look at a car seat their head is still resting on the back of the seat so their air way is open. You aren't suppose to leave them in the car seat out of the car because it sits on the floor at an angel that will restrict their air way... so if baby's head isn't resting on the seat I'd say it's dangerous if it is resting on the seat their air way is open. 
At least that's theory I've been told so don't shoot the messenger lol

I guess im not sure whats unsafe if they are strapped in and supported properly. My son used a swing some of the time
