Would you be upset if your spouse didn't tell people that they had kids with you?

Okay so long story short:
Everyone at my job knows that my boss is married however he does come across as flirtatious to some of my female coworkers (nothing too crazy or inappropriate, he's just super smiley, nice, talkative, & "helpful." He's not blatantly flirty but it's DEFINITELY a vibe you pick up on). However, from my knowledge he's never made a move on any of my coworkers

Anyways nobody knew that he had kids and I'm not going to say he's hidden it but conveniently it's never been mentioned - even when other people are talking about their kids with/to him.

 Sunday, his wife came to our job to surprise him for Father's Day. She brought along with her a toddler and newborn. One of my female coworkers (one he is often flirty with) greeted the wife and made a comment along the lines of "Oh I didn't know you had kids" to my boss. From my perspective it seemed that the wife got offended and she kind of matter of factly said "Actually he has three."

So that leads me to my question: would you be upset if your significant other withheld the fact that they had kids from their coworkers (for whatever reason). Are they obligated to let other people know? Is it "sneaky" to not exactly tell anyone?

Okay I realise people like to keep their private lives private but it's different when it comes to sleazy bosses who act too flirty with the co workers. By not speaking much about his married life he's possibly trying to give those ladies the option to embark on indecent relationships or showing he's available. It just doesn't sit well with me.

Nope.. some people just choose not tyo share all of their private info. If he denied or lied about having kids than that is a different story

I think as long as he isn't trying to come off as being single. Like if no one knew he had a wife and kids, then that's suspicious and sneaky. But he isn't obligated to share personal info about his home life.

Usually I'd say it's nobody's business because he's your boss and doesn't have to talk about his personal life. However, if he's flirty like you say he is that's sending an unprofessional message to those women and I think if he were just that friendly he would have mentioned his kids.

If I were the wife in that particular situation and had someone said infront of me "oh I didn't know you had kids" then I would be offended but on the other hand it's work, youre not obligated to tell people your personal business unless you had a friendship outside of work that would include spending time with said family. I'm expecting in three weeks and hubby needed to sort out time off but that's the only reason people at his work know.

I wouldn't be upset because I've actually told my fiancé not to talk about me at his job because it's no ones business and if we had kids I would want him not to bring them up either. Your boss shouldn't be flirting though that's really unprofessional.

No. you are under no obligation to share your personal life whit your coworkers. On another note a flirty 'vibe' is not flirting, a lot of people come across as flirty without intending to. Don't make assumptions.
