I've seen a few ladies post that their due dates weren't calculated correctly or they thought they were further along than they are and I just wonder how does that happen? If you are going by the first day of your last period? What else factors in? I'm sure like most, I'm anxious to get this first trimester over with!

Not everyone ovulates 2 weeks after their period starts,  but the calculations assume everyone does. If someone has a 40 day cycle and ovulates on day 30 instead of day 14, you can see how that person's due date would be off. I ovulated on day 18 of my cycle that I conceived,  and base my due date 38 weeks after that instead of 40 weeks from LMP.

Your due is based on when you ovulate and when you implant. I ovulate on cycle day 18-19. My LMP was 5/14 which would make me 5W3D today but I ovulated almost a week late so I'm only 4W6D. If you implanted late that could also extend your date out. It is not uncommon for women to be 2 weeks behind LMP when finally check with an Ultrasound

So if I ovulated a week after my period would my due date be a week ahead of when I am measuring? My lmp was may 20th and I literally ovulate right after my period, I am able to feel it

Your ultrasound will give you an actual date. But people go by their lmp until their ultrasound and since people ovulate at different times, it changes

Ovulation schedule.  I tend to ovulate on day 11 but this time we got pregnant on cycle day 29.  Really weird cycle.

Initially, they do your due date based on the start date of your last period and count from there. I ovulated really late this last cycle. They originally had me due January 10, based on my last period. I'm measuring 3 weeks behind that though, due to ovulating way late. I wouldn't worry too much about your due date...my first came early anyway lol.

I had a dating scan and it turns out i was 9 days ahead. I was calculating off my LMP but i must have ovulated later than 2 weeks after my period.

I would imagine some women aren't tracking as well as they should...? Or they're like me and had a miscarriage and conceived right after without a period in between? Sometimes it also comes down to doctors getting things wrong; I think they sometimes put too much stock in U/S measurements nowadays.
