Biting nails... 😫😫

I've been biting my nails since I was a kid. Everytime I was told to stop, I didn't. My mom would put hot sauce on my finger nails to keep them out of my mouth, but I would always wash it off without her knowing. I've heard that getting acrylics is a great way to stop biting but my nails are too short for them 😥😥 does anyone have advice that could help me??
