Moving states and custody?

I'm thinking about moving 20000 miles away. SC to AZ. Baby is due in October. How old does he have to be before I'll be made to let him stay with his dad, who is staying here in SC. I know they eventually get long periods of time that they have to go visit the other parent but will I be made to do that even before his first birthday? Nervous mama 😕

Move before the baby is born or you could be denied leaving the state. And if baby is born & father isn't on birth certificate all the decisions will be up to you. Every state is different so I suggest looking up the law or asking an attorney.

Are you planning on moving before or after baby is born? If it is before I would get in touch with courts before you go. If it is after and the father signs the birth certificate/right of parentage you will be unable to leave without the courts consent. I would not just up and move away like that if the father is going to want a part in his child's life.

Do it. If the dad is harmful more than helpful. Im glad my childs father is 500 miles away :)
