Mirena IUD Advice
So I've always had an irregular period due to my Triple X Syndrome, EDS (hypermobility), and others--unnamed at the moment, constant migraines, heavy bleeding, death cramps, not to mention the heavy bleeding 15-38 days straight with a 4-day break in between--that was my normal period. Pills didn't work when I was younger, so I got the 5yr Mirena. It worked really well, less migraines, not as bad crampage, it had it's moments, the bleeding was still heavy, but my periods where regulated. It was done surgically outpatient as I was 18 and still a virgin. When the migraines started increasing, cramps getting worse, in the midst of trying to rule everything else out, I had my IUD removed in February. It was due this year anyway, just in August. I felt better, they put me on a pill, non estrogen because of migraines.
I hadn't remembered the pills not working, just knew something was wrong, and this could be a factor. I developed nausea, back pain--like can't move my lower half, diarrhea, and fever all of which I never had before. Each period was weeks later than the one before. So back on the Mirena I went at the end of May. I literally cramped from when they took the Mirena out to when a new one was put back in. Having period cramps when you're clearly not on your period is the worst.
Everything was going semi-normal. Like I had heard about the plug-like discharge from friends, cause it didn't happen for me the first time. All was good on my month check up, I was just on my period but no bleeding, which was very strange for me, like all of the symptoms were there. Even some of the new ones, which I guess I'm stuck with.😔
I am still currently on my 1st period back on Mirena and having issues, as it is Day 14. So I wasn't bleeding, like barely any for the first 7 days, then it got heavy for 2 days, then super light again. Problem is these bloody flesh like tissue things that release every time I pee--it's like 4 drops and make me feel like I have to pee every 5 mins. I wanna ignore it and sleep (not helping my insomnia or sleep apnea), but what if I ignore it and really have to pee. Before the flesh thingies, it'd just hurt real quick when my bladder emptied. Realized it would just cramp up really badly every time I peed. Obviously I'm calling my doctor on Monday. But, any suggestions, cause this shit hurts. Never been pregnant, btw. God bless, if anyone has any suggestions that don't involve coconut (deathly allergic to all forms), I'd gladly appreciate it 🤗
