confused!?

We have been TTC for about a year now, just really started following my ovulation like I should before going to see a doctor. I was supposed to get AF yesterday and right before bed i thought she finally came, but instead it is thin pinkish/red/brown mucus, only have gone through 2 regular tampons and no blood in my panties, only when I wipe and once I wipe it's gone even when I stick the toilet paper up in there, it is clean. Light cramping, nothing like my regular flow.. I usually use super tampons all through the day and still bleed through! I have read that implantation bleeding is NOT red, and the only time I get red blood has been on the tampons. I'm so confused!!! Is this implantation or just a really strange light cycle??
