Maternity Pictures / How Much Should I Pay?

Question

With my first I had a friend do them for free but she doesn't live near me anymore. I found this other military wife who makes a living on her photography business and she is willing to travel 30 minutes to my location (I'm on bedrest but planning on going into my backyard).

She is charging $300 for a family session which includes an outfit change, at least 2 hours of shooting, 75+ images and full access to the online gallery.

Is this a good deal or should I look for someone else in the area? I like to support small business people starting out but we don't have too much extra money.

I think that's a reasonable price for what you're getting.

That doesn't sound very expensive but I am a photographer so I see pricing differently. Keep in mind if it includes an online gallery than the prints and digitals (if she sells them) are most likely not included in the $300.

It really depends on how much u value photography. Usually if they cost less and include all the photos digitally it can mean they're starting out and they may not be as experienced

I paid 150 . Hour session as many outfit changes as I wanted I got all my photos on a hard drive & she printed out the ones she thought was best . I found her through a friend though so that was a pretty good deal
