I've questioned this myself quite a bit. I personally think the answer is no. The ovulation test only tests for hormone surges, but not the actual ovulating moment. Therefore, you could peak on a Monday and ovulate within 48 hours, I.e. Tuesday or Wednesday. Confirmation of a thermal shift could help with pinpointing this.
