Okay so I used to date this guy in high school and I've known him my whole. I broke up with him and we haven't talked since(because of distance and it was about 3-4 years ago). Well one day I saw a mug shot of him saying "man drugged and raped an underage girl" which completely took me by surprise because again I've know him my whole life and that's not something he would do nor did he looks drugged up, he looks the same. I read a lot about it from different news/reports and the story's always seem a bit off. So my mom and his mom have been friend for a long time and they have (kind of) talked about it.

So here's the story: He met her from a friend and picked her up and took her to his house (btw still lives with his parents) and offered her acid which she took and they had sex. Well someone (the grandfather, or mother, I've read different story's so idk) found out and they made a report and now his arrested for sagittaria rape. But what she had did was told him she was of age even though she was under. And I guess it didn't end will and now his in jail. And his mom has said that everytime she sees him he just crys (I'm guessing because his life is now ruined)

I'm not victim blaming by any means, but like I said I've read so many different story's he picked her up here or at the house and how the grandfather was the one to found out or the mother was the one to found out and he slipped drugs in her drink or she said that he offered her some etc...so it's a little hard to figure out what to think. And again I dated him and we only did oral but he would ask to have sex but respected when I said no, he asked if I wanted to smoke weed I said no and that was that.

I don't like how a guy or girl will have to file as a sex offender for life if the person they had sex with lied about their age when they know they are underage. Because honestly who checks I.Ds before having sex? We just believe it, but then someone's life might get ruined. I'm not blaming or anything it's just idk and I'm curious to see what others think about it?
