dummies

Always said I would never give my son dummy. I went a good four months without it, but one day my son became to stubborn and upset about going to sleep that I need to give him one to calm down. He only really has it if he is so tired and becomes stubborn and fights to go off. It was only used during nap times and once gone I would take it away. About a week ago he would not settle down at night so in the end had to give it to him but again was taken away once gone and he would sleep through. All of a sudden he has woken up for up. He would go sleep I would take it and about 20 mins later he will wake for it and he can do this about 6 times. I really don't want him to become use to the dummy at nights. It's getting to the point where I can't fall asleep as always up to sort him and it's becoming frustrating. I get upset to because I'm tired and wondering why he is doing this. Any tips or ideas on how to stop this and deal with it.
