I'm friends with an ex. My husband doesn't care as he trusts me. My ex is happily married with two kids and we parted on good terms. It depends on the relationship and how much trust you have in your partner.

If the guy I'm in a new relationship with is trying to tell me who I can and cannot be friends with, I would no longer be in a relationship with him. That's a huge red flag

I said maybe. My current partner has kids and he gets along with two of their mothers. Idc and I don't mind. He needs a relationship with his kids and if that means getting along with their mothers, it's not an issue. He also speaks to a few of the women he used to talk to. Idc about that either. As for me? I prefer not to speak to any of my exes because they all seem to think that just because we had something then, I'll always want them. That's a big no for me. Not only is that against my way of thinking, what they say and do disrespects what I have with him.

Depends. I tried to be friends with my ex. Every time we talked it was the same ol thing. "I was just thinking about you. I miss you. I miss all the good times we shared." 
Or, "Your heart will always belong to me. It should be us." And, "Admit it, you know you still want me. You miss the way we______."

No no no no no!! A simple, "hello," and a, "hey how's it going," would have sufficed. This isn't what I'd consider, "Normal friend talk." So, I had to let him go. But, hey... if you can talk to your ex without all the hard feelings and the sexual enuendos, and suggestive snide comments... go for it! Be friends! In my case, he wanted more than what I could give him and that was just that. It was time to move on. Go our separate ways. That was 14/15 years ago. Haven't talked to him since!

It is ONLY okay if you have fully disclosed this with your new partner and if they are completely comfortable with you being friends with your ex. I think it's dangerous territory and it's usually very difficult to be friends with an ex without previous feelings and history coming back up. Best just to steer clear but that's just my opinion 🤷🏻‍♀️

Yes, providing there is boundaries and you have all moved on. There is no feelings that remain. My husband is friends with his ex, but they don't spend any time on there own together, always in company. He tells me when they are going for a coffee etc and I have no issue what so ever as I trust him. We have even gone for coffee a few times. His other ex is the mother of his children and I would never interfer there. Again they don't spend time on there own, but if likee recently their youngest graduated, he went up to were his daughter lived and I stayed home (it was something between them as parents so should be shared together) and again we was all open and honest about boundries and I have no issue
