Confused

Went to the doctors office wasn't a confirm diagnosis of a PCOS but was prescribed Metformin. Started taking the prescription made me really sick, my stomach wasn't able to handle it finally after weeks of going through pain and diarrhea and everything I finally got used to it. Went back to the OB/GYN doctor and she tells me by my the looks of my laboratory and other significant ways to diagnose PCOS that I do not have it. Though there is still more testing to do but gave me the option to either continue or to stop the prescription. I'm so confused I wish it was just a simple yes or no answer I know that in medicine wise it's always an guessing game with certain diagnoses. I wish I could get a confirmed answer of whether taking that a Metformin is going to help me with infertility or am I hurting my body in the long run? Although I've decided to keep taking Metformin until I get my testosterone tested and see what the results are! I just wish there was a better way to understand or know what really goes on in our system but I know medically wise it's just a guessing game! Just sad that we have been trying for over 3yrs and still nothing.
