Tdap vaccine?

I'm on the fence about the tdap vaccine. I'm not sure if I want to get it at my next appointment when I'll be 35 weeks or if I want to get it when I'm at the hospital after birth. I do plan on giving my baby vaccinations but I not sure if this is something I should do now or wait. Also my doctor hasn't talked to me about it so I don't know if it's worth the risks or not.

Get it at your next appointment! Getting the vaccination while pregnant passes on some of the immunity to your baby, so they'll be more protected from pertussis (whooping cough) in the first six weeks of life before they can get their own tdap vaccination.

I asked my doctor about the benefits before getting the shot. He recommended it because if you get the shot while your pregnant you will pass on those antibodies to protect your newborn for the first few weeks of life. Even though I plan to breast feed (which will also pass on antibodies) I decided to get the shot while pregnant just in case breast feeding does not work out for some reason. Anything to protect baby!

I got mine at 27weeks. It makes better sense to do it while pregnant than after you deliver. Baby won't get all the antibodies that they need to protect themselves out of the womb.
