Water leaking???

Question

I'm currently 39 weeks and wondering how I would know if my water was slowly leaking?? Would it ever stop or just be a constant slow leak?? I'm starting to dilate but no mucus plug yet.... When does that usually come out? And one last question ... How many centimeters do you usually dilate before your water breaks??? Sorry so many questions.

I didn't lose my mucous plug til I was at least 8cm, and they broke my waters when I was starting to push at 10cm just to make the process faster. Baby had been engaged for 4weeks prior. Gave birth last night 9 days early :-) didn't get induced. Got to hospital coz I was 6.5cm dilated (didn't know) and gave birth 4.5 hours later.

I haven't experienced it but my doctor told me it would be a continuous leak. Try laying in your left side for an hour and then stand up. If it's your water it will gush out. Good luck !

With my first my water broke without any sort of contractions. I had no idea what was happening at first and thought I just peed my pants until it just kept leaking no matter what I did. They ended up having to induce since I had no contractions and wasn't dilated at all. It is more rare for things to happen like that with your first I was told but you never know what'll happen.

My water broke on my due date and I was only 1cm dilated... I was 1cm for 3 weeks before it broke. For me it was a constant keak that would be worse when I say down or stood up. I knew right away that it was my water!  Hope this helps!

my waters leaked for 2 days before i started to dialate. some people necer notice their mucus plug.

My water leaked with my last. You'll know if it's leaking. It'll just be clear stuff leaking out over and over. And you'll know you're not peeing because you won't feel anything down there besides the fact that it's getting wet obviously. Lol. Plus when you go to the bathroom and sit on the toilet it'll just leak out.

Some woman can give birth with their "water" still in tack.  Just depends.
