one sided effort

It's always me sending him the long ass texts about how much I love him with replies that are 2 sentences long. It's always me who takes the unexpected pictures of him and look back at them when he's not around when I'm missing him. 9 times out of 10 it's me who tells him how good he looks and how much I love him. Am I selfish for wanting more attention myself? Anyone else ever feel this way? He is my first boyfriend and he's been in two relationships before me. I think maybe that's why I feel like I love him so much more than he loves me.
