feeling defeated

I just found out after trying for six months that I do in fact have PCOS and my Gyno just said that he doesn't believe trying clomid and metformin will help me at all and wants to send me to a special doctor for a more aggressive approach… I don't know that means. Has anyone had this kind of experience? All I know is I have high insulin levels, normal blood sugar, and low progesterone. And I'm feeling pretty discouraged and really bummed out.
