Repost* Why I don't celebrate 4th of July

mamí 🌹🇵🇷

Let me get more elaborate for the uneducated one's to why I don't celebrate "4th of July"

Well, being a Native Latino a minority in modern racial terms it's a slap to my face & my ancestors who inhabited this land before it was stolen.

America wouldn't be celebrating independence day IF this land wasn't invaded. This land was occupied already by millions of Natives. To conquer this land (take control) the White Europeans' RAPED, ripped babies out the wombs of the native women, slaughtered the Natives and the children. Some were kept as slaves but if they didn't obey they were killed. This is when the enslavement of blacks came into play and the women were often used as mistress's on the low but when pregnancy occurred they were still tortured, some were sold to other slave masters and even some faced forced abortions, some were forced to with child. Even while America won their "independence" slavery was going on and considered the "norm" LET THAT SINK IN.

So no I don't care to celebrate America's birthday, I don't care to respect it. How can I? To celebrate America to celebrate how it became a country and I can't sit here & celebrate the blood shedded, the murders and rapes my ancestors endured, let alone celebrate THEFT. Y'all can believe the whitewashed bs schools taught you, you can dispute me & say it's bs you know deep down it's not, esp when school throws some native & slavery in play just not the whole story. If you're a minority STOP celebrating #4thofJuly if you're white don't want to be generalized STOP celebrating the supremacy of #AmeriKKKa becoming, if you truly care about minorities don't celebrate today.

For those who keep complaining about my race posts the irony- it's ONLY whites. Get over yourself clearly you're in denial & racist if my posts about racial appropriation, racist scenarios in America, and standing up for my ancestors & my culture/race etc is a problem I'm not the problem you're the problem!
