What makes a good wife?

Hey ladies,

Maybe it's just me but sometimes I doubt myself about being a good wife. I have my good days and my bad days!

So I would love to hear from other ladies what you think makes a good wife or what can us ladies do to make ourselves better wives?

My husband works his behind off supporting our three daughters and I. Lately, he's been coming home and making dinner too because he has felt like I've been struggling with the whole stay at home mommy thing (which I have - three daughters ages 7, 18 months and 5 months)

I will admit - I often complain a lot and I don't even mean too. It just happens.. I know he gets annoyed by it but always seems to just put up with it! I would really love to start having a better connection with hubby because it's definitely has died down a lot since having our children!

So basically what I want to know - besides the basics and the obvious truthful, loyal, and loving traits - what do you do that you think makes you a good wife? What does your husband like about you or what you do as a wife?

What makes you you is what makes you a good wife. It also helps to have a good husband who accepts you exactly as you are. On your good days and on your bad days. Whether you cook and clean, or not. What makes you a good wife is being who you are and being with someone who loves you exactly for that.

I always cook dinner, my hubby works hard all day away from home and I know it's a small thing I can do that he really really appreciates. I use my crockpot a ton so that helps with keeping dinner simple and quick to prepare. I also always make sure I tell him how much I appreciate him and all he does...now with that being said he makes sure and shows me also how much I'm appreciated. It's a total give and take. Maybe you guys can set a schedule for things like dinner and switch off, I'm sure you are exhausted at the end of the day as well and deserve a break also.

He says he likes that I'm nice and fun. I can totally be a crappy cow and have blow outs but overall I'm positive and we get on well. We have a lot of fun together and laugh s lot. And I know he loves when I join him for walks/hikes.

Maybe a good regular date night where you can focus on each other would help. We did Sunday fun days even if it was just getting a nice dinner or cinema or going for a hike or to the park. I know it's not as easy with the kids but maybe doing something fun at the weekends outdoors would help. If he works hard then getting maximum enjoyment at the weekend will be appreciated.

And be patient with yourself too. 3 Lil children is a lot of work so well done! 👏

I think being a good wife is just being a good partner and teammate. Picking up slack when and where you can and asking for help if you need it. Communication is key. I don't think making or not making dinner every night makes anyone a good or bad wife. Making your partner feel supported, loved and equal is more important than a pot roast. Making time for eachother as husband and wife (not just mom and dad) is important too. I like to plan a date night for my husband and I to reconnect (with no kids!) as often as I can. My goal is once a week.

A good wife is a woman who can care for her kids, and clean up the home , and  have dinner ready for her husband when he comes home from work. I know sounds ike much but I have 3 boys ,homeschool 3rd child , make sure too have a clean home, cook dinner for my husband because I know he works really hard to support us and he comes home very tired and he just wants to relax ,sure there are times when he helps out but I don't ask for much . And yes we all have our good and bad days and there are times when I just throw something in the oven that's just quick. When a man has been working hard all day and comes home and still has to cook dinner and do other chores it can be a burden for him .I have a cousin who does that and he is not happy overly  stressed and burdened. In a relationship with kids we should help each other out and not feel burdened. Hope that helps

I seriously get jealous of those mommies who make it seem so flipping easy. Those who juggle all the babies while cooking, cleaning, arts and crafts, baking and even daily outings all while doing it with a smile.

I love my babies and I love my hubby and I do try my best to make them happy! It's just ebb one of those days where I felt as if I am not doing enough. My hubby always tells everyone we come into contact with that I work hard and have one of the hardest jobs ever that he couldn't ever be able to do.

I really need to learn to have better patience and stress less. Those ladies who have told me I need to seek time for myself - it never happens because when I get the chance I feel guilty leaving the house!

Hubby and I seriously need date nights but nobody ever wants to watch three children! 😂

You sound like you have a great hubby there! (: my hubby is very similar, will always do what he can to help out when he sees I've had a bad day. I'm a stay at home mum and housewife and he works a very physically demanding job, so I like to make sure that when he gets home I have the house clean and a meal cooking for him. I always ask how his day went and let him vent to me. He has quite a few problems with his family so I try to offer a different, positive perspective while still always making it clear I'm on his side. It's quite simple. I do little things I know he'll appreciate, like filling up water bottles to put in the fridge or putting a beer or two in there so he can enjoy a cold drink when he gets home after a hot day of working in the sun. Basically I just try to treat him with as much appreciation and thoughtfulness as he shows me (;

I have found my husband wants to be heard, and feel like I'm supportive. Ask him about his day, give him your undivided attention, which is difficult with kids sometimes, but your marriage can't fall to the side. 
My husband loves to feel appreciated. So, one night, just make a special effort to have dinner ready for him, and say something like you know he has a lot going on and you wanted to cook a nice dinner and show your appreciation. Trust me, little things like that go far.
