Why did my dr. Give me Clomid? Advice please.

My very first month TTC I got pregnant but miscarried at 5w3d. I've had very very very light periods for many years (only spotting for a couple days). So she gave me provera after I asked for it. Then she added Clomid to help with egg quality. But I thought Clomid was only for people having a hard time conceiving. I'm worried about multiples too. I am not ready for twins or triplets (which she never even mentioned btw). I'm really torn about whether I need it or not. I'd hate to not take it and then have another mc because of poor egg quality. But I'm terrified of having triplets! Any advice is greatly appreciated!
