Wedding day and period :/

I planned my wedding knowing I wouldn't be on my period, but when I started 2 days early it changed my prediction. Now it looks like I should start the day after I'm married. I'm not on birth control, but I have a sample my Dr gave me. Can I start taking it 3 weeks before my wedding and it keep my period away?
