Experienced knowledge only, new job-leave options in Pennsylvania

Sarah

So I'm excited that first of all, I got a great new job that pays way more than my previous one. I'll be teaching kindergarten! I'm due the end of this November, and am at a public school. From what I read, I can't get fmla since I will only have been there 3 months. So what happens? Obviously I have to leave. I'm taking 6 weeks and my husband will take 2. I told my principal so far and she was happy, but haven't signed a contract. I guess I go to Hr to find out but wasn't sure if this happened to anyone else. I have heard of teachers getting hired pregnant, but I don't know if it's just all completely unpaid leave or what. Help! Starting to worry even though this job is way better than my last. Please only Pennsylvania residents respond, every state and/or country.
