Ovulation Pain when TTC

How do you deal? I really want a baby and we've been trying for 6 months but with his work schedule it's rare that my ovulation schedule and his out of town work schedule align. Today I am ovulating and he's in town but I'm in a lot of pain and nauseous. Any tips to make the sex less painful so that we can increase our chances, of do you just grit and bare it? It's getting hard to handle watching all of these people around us having babies.
