Looking for positive stories with incompetent/short cervix and use of progesterone suppositories.
I am 21 weeks and some days with twins, my first pregnancy that has made it past 12 weeks. We went for a routine anatomy scan yesterday and the doctor noticed that my cervix had started to slightly funnel and was shorter than they would like. I was admitted to the high risk antepartum unit of the hospital for exams and over night observation and to see if I was having contractions, they discussed a possible cerclage. I didn't have any contractions at all and was examined by two specialists, both thought I would be fine with just doing progesterone suppositories and to be put on bed rest, I go for a follow up exam in a week to see if further action needs to be taken. My husband and I have waited so long and have spent a lot of money to finally become pregnant again, and we are thrilled we've made it this far. The babies are both perfect, its just my body not cooperating. I'm scared to death I'm going to loose them. I'm just looking for advice, support, encouragement, and stories to get me through this. Being on bed rest is going to give me too much time to be in my head and stressing about every little thing. I'm afraid to cough or sneeze or move the wrong ways... I know I'm overreacting but I just can't deal with something possibly happening to my two miracles...
