Cheap Boyfriend?

My boyfriend is kind of cheap. I've never really noticed, but a close friend of mine pointed this out to me. He has never paid for one of our dates, he has never gone out of his way to do anything special for me, and we've been dating for a while now. Should I be concerned?

My first boyfriend was that way. We dated for two years. Ultimately, I'm so, so glad that we didn't end up together. I'm actually pretty frugal and careful with my money but life is too short to never spoil the ones you love. It's too short to work hard and go without just because one half of the couple is support cheap.

I think guys should always pay for dates, if I was dating someone & had to pay my family would definitely disapprove

You don't have to spend money to go out of your way to do something special for somebody. Sounds like there's more to it than just being cheap.

I don't think one person should always pay. I think you should split it like if you went to the movies he could pay for the tickets while you pay for the popcorn. No reason for him to spend all his money on dates and you never paying.
