Nexplanon and boyfriend

I've gotten the implant nexplanon and my boyfriend doesn't seem to think the whole birth control thing works he thinks that people can get pregnant on it. I try to tell him sometimes the people that do get pregnant on birth control sometimes don't take it right or they break. But when I said they break he instantly thinks mine broke. How do I get him to trust my birth control?
