Question

First time momma with a handsome 4 month old boy, who is rolling over onto his stomach in his sleep and burying his face into his bassinet. I'm not sure what to do anymore we lay him on his back, tried rolls, etc. Its making me very nervous and scared, Please Help! Thank you.

My pediatrician told me that it was okay after he was doing it on his own. Still shouldn't put him to bed on his belly but if he rolls over not to worry about it. I would still check with your pediatrician, I don't want to be responsible for going against his/her judgement.

Update doctor said no more blankets or swaddles. only issue baby can't sleep like that sadly we still swaddle or he does not sleep. it's quite frightening checking constantly throughout the night to make sure he is okay.

My baby has slept on his stomach since he was born I've encouraged it because it's the only way he'll sleep throughout the night. I never had my son bury his face into anything though. I believe at that age their necks are strong enough and they will know if they can't breathe and he will turn and fix his face

I agree wth the others that he's gonna roll if he wants to and there's not a whole lot you can do about it. no more swaddling. and be sure to do lots of tummy time during the day so he builds up his neck and shoulder strength which will make it easier for him to readjust at night.

Have you thought about swaddling your baby? I used to have to swaddle my son every night for him to sleep through the night. Now he does fine and is 9mo old.

My son has been rolling for a while, but just recently decided he only wants to sleep on his stomach... face down. It terrifies me, but every time I check on him he seems to be breathing fine. I also have a Snuza movement monitor that gives me piece of mind. I was told, as long as he does it himself and has good neck and head control, don't worry about it.

Just let him sleep on tummy. There is nothing u can do about it. Just make sure all U have is a firm mattress and fitted sheet in crib/bassinet.

I have a 1 year old boy who did the same so early. Dr said it's ok. Just don't lay baby down on his belly. If he rolls, he rolls. If you're that worried about it like I was, I just rolled him back on his back lol. Luckily he was a heavy sleeper. He will be ok. 😊
