Baby engaged 36 weeks

Hello! So I'm 36 weeks and 1 day and today my doctor said he couldn't feel the baby's head because she was so far down and well engaged. He told me I should get ready in case of an early delivery because I'm pretty ready . Just want to know if any of you ladies have experienced this and if you went into labour after finding out the baby was well engaged ?
