How do you get your point across?

When you & your SO are really at odds about a topic and you feel like you've come to a stand still about getting your point across after talking about it and it escalates to an argument, what do you do?

Talk like an adult until we can agree.

If you can't communicate on a topic w/o it escalating on both ends, you two may not be romantically compatible. None of those options supports a healthy relationship. None of those options are fair to either one of you. Your partner is your greatest ally, not your mortal enemy #1

We usually give ourselves a couple hours to clear our heads and step away from the situation. Then when we come back we either realize it wasn't that big of a deal or he usually apologizes and says I'm right. He's a smart guy. 😂

All of these options are immature to me. If there is a disagreement, sit down and talk about it. If you get into an argument, walk away so you both can calm down and try to come about talking about it in a different way. If two people can't communicate like adults, nothing will be accomplished.

I have come to accept the fact that my SO is extremely head strong and set in his ways on most things. I am more of the go with the flow type of person so when we argue and it gets heated usually I ask myself "do I want to fight this battle!?" Usually the answer is no. So I let it go. It has made me a better person by learning to do this. I am also a lot happier in life now. And I've also learned some of the topics that he won't change his mind on so I avoid them in general...... we both have sore subjects and we both avoid the others sore subjects to not cause fights.

Well. We don't argue. We have disagreements. But we have adult discussions and see each other's sides. And if we can come to an agreement, we do. If we can't, we agree to disagree and move on. Arguing doesn't do or help anything.

Take about five to ten minutes to calm down and then we talk about it like the adults that we are 🤷🏼‍♀️

All of these options are unhealthy and immature. 
We discuss things. On the rare occasions we are unable to agree totally, we compromise, defer to one or the other, or agree to disagree depending on the situation.
