Snapchat Location Feature

Anyone else having paranoid thoughts with this thing? I've been in a relationship for 2+ years now and I've ALWAYS been paranoid about cheating. It's just my personality, I like to overthink things.

Anyways I do notice I think my boyfriend turns his ghost feature on and off. Does anyone know if the location feature turns off if Snapchat isn't used in a while or is it always active?

I don't want to ask him about it, because ya know, paranoid crazy girlfriend might be a little weird.
