I had to wake her every 3 hours at night the first three weeks b/c that's how long it took her to gain her birth weight back. Almost 6 months now and she's a chunky monkey.

Answer

Every two hours until they are back to birth weight.  Then on demand, but no longer than four hours til two months.  (That was what my midwife and pediatrician recommended.)

Only wake them to feed if they have not regained their birth weight and sleep longer than 3-4 hours, are at risk for jaundice, or your doctor tells you to
