Toddler reacting badly to new baby!

Anyone else?

My beautiful 2 year old son is not reacting well at all to the arrival of his sister. Every tiny thing provokes a tantrum now, and he deliberately acts up at every opportunity. He's tried to hit the baby, screamed in her ears until she cried, you name it. Please someone tell me this phase passes quickly? I'm trying to keep his routine and still show him lots of attention, but at the same time trying to discipline him for all his bad behaviour. I know you can't really reason with a toddler, but I want to show him that this change is ok and he just needs to be patient.
