maybe lost tampon ???

I really can't remember if I put a tampon in this morning , went toilet earlier and before I put one in I couldn't find the string , so I just inserted it , but now I'm like did I have one in or not ? I've felt up their and nothing even got my partner to feel and nothing , I feel sick but I dunno if that's cause I got one in their or is it because I started the pill today ? Lord help me 😩😩😩
