Question on me pre-op

So I'm getting surgery on Monday to remove a small tumor I have on the side of my rib. This is my first time having a procedure like this. Tomorrow is my pre-op, can anyone explain what I can expect at my pre-op ? What will they ask, what's gonna happen? Also what's the anesthesiologist for ? Why would I have to see him tomorrow? Sorry for all the questions just curious.
