Guy problems

My best friend happens to be a guy, and I randomly got a text saying that he doesn't want me in his life anymore. We have a long history and he's my person for everything and I don't know what I'm supposed to do. He's the equivalent to a straight gay best friend whom I can tell anything to and not be judged for it. How do I make it up to him and get my best friend back? I've tried apologizing, although I'm not really sure what I'm apologizing for, because I didn't do anything... Please help me. I'm going completely insane.
