Are you a waitress?

Hey there,

If you're a waitress, what outfit did you wear to to the interview that got you the job? Also what kind of restaurant is it (casual, bar, lounge, fancy diner, etc)?

I'm just wondering what to wear to some restaurant waitress interviews to help maximize my chances of getting hired. Obviously a suit is out of place. But do managers like girls that wear tighter clothes and stuff just so they get higher tips off the girls?

Do NOT wear jeans to an interview. When I was a manager at a restaurant it was just a common rule to not hire people that came in wearing jeans. It's been the same at every other job i have held. I was a manager at a very casual restaurant.

It's just like every other job interview. I wore black slacks, a tailored grey and white blouse and nude heels (close-toed!) you can never go wrong with professional. Neutral colors, and not too much skin. Tailored options are much better than skin tight. Professional professional professional!! Even if you don't get the job, they will respect you more if you are professional than if you put yourself out there in a bad way. Good luck, and remember to relax.(:

I wear black everything to my interviews. 
I've been waiting tables for 6 years and worked my way up from casual dining to fine dining. 
If you work hard at it you can make excellent money.
It's a skill that needs to be learned. I'm now a level two sommelier and I make my own schedule while making bank.

There is a difference between a waitress and a server. If you want the big bucks I'd aim for the title of Server.

It totally depends on what kinda resturant it is. In college I worked at a local pub. I wore nicer jeans and cute kinda nice too. Somewhat casual but still cute. When I was working I wore jeans and tshirts or tank tops usually, kinda tight but nothing too revealing.
