In my case it turned into "I can see other people but you can't." 
Not a good experience. But I know people that have been very successful in open relationships! It's all about communication. No matter what.

My wife and I have been nonmonogamous from the start. Right now, I'm casually dating other people, but I'm an introvert and not trying hard enough to see anyone seriously (besides her). Including me, she has four serious partners. We just moved away for work, so wifey doesn't see them as often as she used to, but she'll go away for the weekend or have them come see us. Is there something specific you wanted to know?

Me and my husband are swingers we only have fun together not separate!  But we do sleep with other people all in the same room and swap back and fourth and sometimes we have 3somes with another chick or another man
