How difficult is c section recovery?

There's a chance I'll be told I need a c section...we'll find out tomorrow. Just wondering how difficult the recovery is? I'm not afraid of the actual procedure, it's the recovery that's got me on edge!

Everybodys different. My sis in law was flying it around the day after she had hers, she had 3 in 3 years. And a friend of mine didnt get out of bed for over 2 weeks. Depends on the person really and pain threshold etc, wether u get an infection etc etc

I've had 2 of them and having a 3rd in November. Mine went ok but I do have 2 separate c section scars because they couldn't use the first one do to scar tissue. The 2nd is like 4 inches below my belly button and not on the bikini line like the 1st one which made it much better for recovery for myself

The first 2 days were rough. The day my son was born probably about 4-5 hrs after I started hurting so so bad and they actually had to give me medicine to make it stop that they weren't really allowed to give me they said. The first time you get up to walk it feels like your insides are going to fall out but walking does help tremdously. And use a belly band my hospital provides them they are the bomb.com.. and if you go to cough or sneeze put a pillow up to your belly and put pressure on it because it does hurt but that helps. By the time I went home from the hospital I felt great. I even started driving a week later which I know we aren't supposed to but i did and had no problems. I only got a little sore around bedtime so that's when I would take the pain meds. But everyone is different. I'll be having my second c-section in October. Good luck ❤️ you'll do great.

Just take the pain meds and wear the belly band. Try to walk as soon as possible and as often as possible (just very slowly). I struggled picking up my son for a week and my husband had to help a lot. I also got an infection, which cause the scar to heal slower than it usually would.

I was in bed for the first week, now I'm almost done with my 2nd week and I can do things, but minimal.

My first two were great, no problem and a pencil thin 4inch scar.... My 3rd was a nightmare...I had bruising from my thighs to my belly button and my incision opened on each end..it has to be packed and cleaned at the docs weekly and took 2 months so heal... Follow the docs after care instructions and take it as easy as possible in the beginning. Expect to be out of work 6wks is typical and no driving for several of those as well bc you can't turn at the waist quickly. You'll still have all the bleeding etc from your hooha afterwards and swelling from the iv fluids but your new bundle will make all of it seem unimportant
