When will you start to buy things for the baby

Hello everyone I am very excited to start to shop for my baby once I find out the gender which I'll be 5 going on 6 months ... but everyone keeps telling me it's bad luck and to wait until I am 7 months ... Like I wouldn't buy any big stuff just diapers and wipes etc ... what are your thoughts on this ?

We started buying things pretty much right away. There is nothing wrong with starting whenever you are ready!

I had a crib, changing table, and a few blankets and gender neutral outfits by the time I was 12 weeks. If you want to buy stuff early go ahead, I don't think it's "bad luck" at all

go ahead a rack up on diapers of all sizes and boxes of wipes you will not regret it!!!

I bought a diaper bag the week we found out. Got her crib as a gift at 3 months & bought unisex clothes at 3 months.

I already got stuff and I haven't even been able to carry a healthy pregnancy past 8 weeks yet. I just hold onto stuff

I bought almost everything together when I reached the 12 weeks. We are also moving to another country so we went binge shopping "just in case" we couldn't find it in our new destination haha.

I'm 17 weeks and have a few onesies (planning on buying more very soon) I think the 'bad luck' only happens if you believe it.
