Did you struggle with money when you were 21?

I barely get to spend any of the money I make towards me, it all goes towards bills and food. For some reason I feel like it's not normal for me to struggle and I feel alone

I didn't because I'm the cheapest person alive and was doing my bachelors in accountancy and economics at the time so I'd be failing at life if I couldn't manage money. It's all about budgeting and living within your means. Rent the smallest, shittiest shit hole you can. Walk or ride everywhere when possible. Hang out at people's houses instead of going out. That type of stuff. A lot of 21 year olds blow money on small shit that adds up like coffee, clothes and fast food. If you're serious about saving money then look at what hobbies and habits you've got and cut the most expensive one. Most people will have at least something to cut even if it's something as small as a 1 soft drink a week habit.

In America hell yes I struggled. Especially in Maryland- even with a partner to share. In Germany, as a student, not much struggle at all since they would help me with housing and bus and food each month :)

I sometimes have some extra money for me but it's mostly bills and things I need to survive. I just look at it like my bills are paid, I have a roof over my head and food so it's not struggling if I can't get myself anything for a while, it's just priorities.

I lived on tortillas and cheese slices and mac n chz for a long time. Paycheck to paycheck and sometimes that didn't even cut it. If you live alone, get a roommate. If there are things and bills you can do without. Find a way to drop them.
