What do you think of the name Forrest ?

My fiancé and I are TTC. And we love to discuss names. I've always loved Forrest. But what makes me second guess it is the Forrest Gump reference. I mean that movie is a classic ! But also getting old. I'm sure if we choose this name if we have a son he will get the "run Forrest run" once or twice. What are your thoughts?
Also, spelling ... Forrest vs Forest ?

Maybe I'm dating myself, but that movie will never be old. It's one of the greatest movies of all time. Guaranteed, your kid will hear "Run, Forrest, run!"

My cousins name is Forest and I always yelled run forest run at him when we were playing but I think it's an amazing name. Plus I think by the time the child is older the movie will be quite old so not as well known by the younger kids.

I think the movie is far enough removed that kids his age won't make fun of him. It is a good old classic though. I personally like two R's unless you're going for the forest in the woods thing. I think most people would spell it with two R's.

I have an uncle named Forest. I would be lying if I hadn't heard people say "RUN FOREST RUN!" quite a bit.

I love the movie, but in the movie the character was actually named after a famous KKK wizard Nathan Forrest. Some KKK members name their child Forrest after him. I'm not saying it's a bad name or you shouldn't choose it, but some may associate it negatively for that reason.
