Help! Spotting?

Hey everyone, Im 16 and I've been taking tri cyclen 28 for at least a year now with no problems. I'm taking it only to control my cycle. But recently I've begun spotting a lot exactly 7 days before my period begins for about 4 days. The spotting normally wouldn't really bother me but it gives me cramps as well. I've tried talking to my doctor but she wasn't concerned and didn't want to do anything about it because I was having my gallbladder removed so she thought it was somehow pain from that. Well now the gallbladders out and it's still happening so does anyone else have this problem with spotting? Is this spotting normal?
