2 Car Seats?

Hey ladies! So I'm really confused and needed some help. My daughter will be 13 months by the time the second baby comes around  in November. Originally we thought we could use her car seat for the next one and put her in a booster. But then we realized boosters can't be used until the child is 3-4 years old is that right? Our daughter is almost reaching the maximum height for her current car seat so what does she move into next if not a booster? Any suggestions would be great. Thank you!!

Edit: thank you all so much for your input, we are looking into getting her a convertible car seat and will definitely keep her rear facing till 18 months.

You can get a convertible car seat and still use rear racing until she's 18 months bc that's safer than forward facing at this age. I work in a hospital and the other day a child got involved in a car accident and broke her neck bc she was in the wrong car seat 😐 she almost didn't survive surgery and became paralyzed from neck down..

We're in pretty much this same boat. We're getting a convertible seat for our son, one that starts as an infant seat but will convert to a booster later on, and putting the new baby in the infant seat we have now

ABSOLUTELY DO NOT put your one year old in a booster! That is SO dangerous. They are supposed to be rear facing until 2 years now. At one they do not have the neck support for a booster. They still need to be in a five point harness seat until they are over 40lbs.

Totally get what you mean, car seat options are complicated! We went from an infant bucket seat to a rear facing convertible Britax Boulevard car seat at 1 year, and didn't turn it forward facing until she turned 2. I have 2.5 years between kids, so when my November baby turns 1 and is ready to move from the infant seat to a convertible car seat, my oldest will be 3.5 and we will look for a high-back booster with a removable 5-point harness, like the Britax Frontier, and give her convertible seat to her younger sister.

Our daughter will be 15 months old when our son gets here in November! We just bought her a convertible car seat and are using her infant seat for him :) Congratulations!

We got a convertible car seat for our son when he turned 1. It rear faces, forward faces and turns into a booster seat so we won't have to buy another one for him again :)

Yes very dangerous to put a little under two in anything but a harnessed seat and rear facing till 2p. Please read up on safety for you child. Although she may be reaching the height for it it is important for weight to be there and they are not strong enough especially with the head to be in a booster so young. I have my two and half year old boy who is on the bigger side, in his car seat and although he too is the height he still. Weds the weight to move up to booster. He is front facing tho. I have talked with many and looked in to it and he does really good with it. I have a neighbor kid I watch some times and she still sits in a big girl car seat and she will be 7 she just does not make the weight required either. Much safer, and to be safe rather than sorry if anything did happen.
